Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 447

I hit the Smorgasburg yesterday(Brooklyn Bridge park location.) Great day to be out there but some of the fucking lines were crazy. It's walking distance from my casa so I left after 1 beer and some Spanish chicken and beef patties(which were very good.)

I went to Martha's Vineyard last week. Much better than Fire Island/Hamptons/Montauk.

Traffic wasn't terrible until we hit the Cape. It took a good hour and a half to go the last 20 miles. ffffuuuu.gif

I'll be in NY for work the week of August 12. I may bring lawyerkid, who has not been there since she was an infant. We'll likely do some obvious tourist stuff, but I would welcome suggestions for stuff that wouldn't suck for a 13 year old girl. She's an avid dancer, so tips about shows worth seeing (or non-dance stuff) would be great. Thanks

@indesertum, thanks again for all the suggestions! My girlfriend had a great weekend, and we loved Nougatine! The food and the location are great, and the drinks weren't bad either.

Unfortunately, I found quite a sizeable, and living, slug on top of my salad. That kind of spoiled my appetite, so I switched to drinks instead, which made for a fun brunch. You should've seen the waiter's face when I pointed out the slug, it was hilarious! Had I been in a bad mood, I would've blackmailed them with the picture of the slug in exchange for a free meal, but I settled for a low tip instead. I was surprised they didn't offer to comp the meal, so I suppose it's a regular occurrence at Nougatine.

I'm surprised they didn't do anything. Last time a giant dust bunny floated down onto the dish and they offered more food or a comp.

frown.gif sorry it didn't turn out so well

sucks on the low tip, the wait staff had no fault on that, it's all the kitchen.

They sure do, my girlfriend and I spotted it right away. It was impossible not to catch it, a quick glance down and they would've seen it. Besides, I still gave them a 10% tip on a $150 bill, and we were there for less than an hour, so it's not too bad.

Dude...
landlords, the vast majority of them at least, do not like the idea of a pit bull in their building.
