Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 370

I replaced the buttons on my blazer with metal buttons and the top button constantly needs to get re-sewed because the button hole for the threads is not smoothed out; it's got sharp edges that constantly fray the threads.

So fucking annoying and a total oversight on the part of the button manufacturer.

Are they they the yellow brass buttons? I hate those.

No, I hate the gold / yellow ones, too.

I got pewter gray buttons.

That's weird. Why not get horn, or MOP like a normal person?

I don't get this. If there's an available seat and I feel like sitting, I'm going to sit. I paid the $2.25 or whatever it is now (I ride the subway maybe once a month these days). I guess the socialist ethos continues to propagate.

I'll get up for a pregnant woman or someone elderly, but otherwise I don't see the issue.

Do you consider yourself to be a normal person?
Normal in the context of "people who think about clothes".

Pewter gray buttons are fairly normal within the spectrum of buttons one can get for their blazer.

Plus, I like the look of metal buttons over MOP on a blazer. I also distinctly don't care for horn buttons on a navy blazer, either, though I do know a lot of SFers like the look.

I actually passed on a gorgeous blazer recently because it had metal buttons. I realize it's 'normal' but it's a little too much for me.

It's easy enough to change the buttons confused.gif

How common is this sort of shenanigans on the subway in NYC?
I see dancers like those (albeit much better) about 4 times a week. Not lying.

IME, it's more common in the stations than on the trains. Times Sq is a 24-hour theater.
