Tough call when you're sitting on hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars of real estate.
Yeah, I don't know enough about it to say, but it's not as if Midtown doesn't have quite a few worthy candidates for demolition or renovation. 80% of the buildings are dogshit.
Yes, all kinds of buildings should be burned to the ground before this one, but unless you're living with Bloomberg-level finances it has to be hard to say no to development money for architectural posterity.
Maybe some preservationist doo-gooders or an angry architect will chain themselves to the front door.
