Did some Dartmouth kid give you an attitude this morning?

If I can't get my own kids into HYPS (assuming I wanted to), what would be the appropriate age to slit their throats? Also, should it be a private ceremony or can you recommend a pagan temple, perhaps one in Davos?

Did the "HYPS" acroynym originate from Stanford?

We all know where "HMIT" came from.

AFAiK, it originated in the Wall Street-McKinsey-Davos axis of evil.

. . .

What did you eat this morning?

Are you at Zucotti Park at this very moment? If so, and you can take time off from fighting capitalism, let's get lunch.

Manton needs to be voraciously hungry this evening.

I am crankier than usual, it is true, but the ideas lurking behind these rants are well considered and genuinely held. As matt has lamented many times, I am quite "left" on "inequality."

I should've been a Metro North conductor. Six figures for doing nothing.

saying you work for the MTA, LIRR, Metro North, NJ Transit, or PATH is the ultimate party buzz kill. maybe worse than saying you work in politics. not sure if it's worse than saying you work for Time Warner Cable.

Ever tell anyone you work in finance? Then follow-up that you are an investment banker?

It's worse than a buzz kill and more like a social lynching.

No, they are just average 25-35 year-olds. That is to say, blindly liberal.

I fear that you are not prepared for the hate.

Just passed by Zucotti Park. There is a guy ranting through a megaphone and someone in the distance beating a drum.

So, at least two more reasons why New York sucks.

Isn't not believing in the human race a fundamental liberal trait?
