Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 125

you get more sweaty walking in the heat, when you ride a bike (even at 8-10mph) you create your own air conditioning. any incline or increase in speed will produce buckets of sweat.

I remember how public bikes are so successful in washington DC and montreal - everyone there (from tourists to locals) seem to use the bikes.

So what's the story on Brooklyn Night Bazaar? Supposedly they're doing a Spring/Summer series starting tonight but their own website doesn't have any information.

re CitiBike does the 30-minute ride limit mean you can check out a bike, ride 25 minutes, check the bike in at a nearby station, then immediately check it out again?

it's 45 minutes for the annual pass. And, if I'm honest, if where you're biking takes more than 45 minutes, you should use the train.

also, lol at gothamists' snark

This Sunday, Citi Bike will try to woo New Yorkers once and for all with a Program Launch Celebration in Union Square, because there's nothing that will win New Yorkers over faster than forcing them to spend time near 14th Street on a weekend afternoon.

Sometimes, Gothamist can be just brilliant. This is one of those times. That is incredible.

Their original review is even better:

The seat is wide and squishy, the closest I have ever come to pedaling an office chair. The low-slung frame means ladies and select gentleman can don their most lavish ball gowns and not worry about tulle getting tangled in the spokes.

Where is all the NYC hate lately?

Also, this weather today is incredible.

No arguments there. It is *glorious* out there. Best weather in months.

Crazy successful those things. See them everywhere.

Great day. Even the crack dealers on my corner said "good morning."

Yes for up to 24hrs. But the constant having to dock the bike every 30 minutes is a deal breaker in my book.
