It came Sat & Sun when the forecasts said 10-20% chance facepalm.gif

As I had packed for the forecast I ended up wearing my wife's (thankfully unisex but rather snug on me) rain hoodie. With the hipster fit I looked right at home on Smith Street near Epaulet, 'tho my pained expression due to the precipitation was genuine rather than affected. Surely the true hipsters tagged me as an outsider.

Manton, another factor in moving to California is all of us stinkin' liberals and, worse, progressives. You might go on a rampage.

lefty, consider this:

St. Louis Blues: n/a

That, my friend, is suffering.

Oh, like New York is really conservative.

Like there are any conservatives left anywhere in the world.

This is a period of late democratic rot, there is nowhere to run to, so I may as well have nice weather.

Just go north, Manton. You'll find your conservatives in the hinterlands of the Empire State. This week I get to enjoy the charms of decidedly illiberal northern NY.

There are some pretty wacky right-wing people upstate. It's like they go even further to the right to try to offset the city.

There are also multigenerational hippies.

That there are, and they are just as annoying. Thankfully, they seem to mostly cluster around Woodstock, so they are easy to avoid.

I approve of Left'ys post. smile.gif
My office is 15-20 minutes from home in non-rush hour traffic. About once a week in nice weather, I'll head home home for lunch and eat it on the roof deck while going through the mail or just enjoying the sun and ocean air (well, pollution-tinged ocean air anyway - I'm a fairly trafficky mile or so from the ocean). Even if I have a lot to do and it means staying a bit later at the end of the day, it's a pretty nice mid-day indulgence.

I went to college in upstate NY, and the town and the college were way left (well, the town much more left than the school).

one thing I noticed in San Francisco was the near total lack of roof decks. It rendered me bummed.

I have though about a roof deck for my house but I am sure I would break my neck descending one night.
