Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 97

I hear you. It's looking like it might happen to me too.

Actually, my neighborhood has long since been gentrified. It's just that rents are going through the roof regardless.

My first year in NY I wandered into some PR day mess, saw the flags, and said to my then-girlfriend something like "wow I didnt know mexicans loved texas so much."

I really, really hate all these fucking people coming in from bumblefuck to live here. It's really ruining the integrity of certain areas of NY, and most of these assholes don't contribute anything positive.

I bet if we traced back through history, before Dutch merchants, Ellis Island and other facilitators of New York's fantastic demise into urbanism, we'd find your family alone, peacefully cohabiting with woodpeckers and foxes on their divinely appropriated estate.

I didn't know Murray Hill or the bars in Midtown East had much integrity to begin with.

Hi, welcome to New York.

No, scratch that, welcome to the world. That's the story of human history.

More and more I'm thinking of moving out somewhere to a big house and just working remotely with the occasional office and/or client site visit.

Ah, who am I kidding. NYC is a drug that's hard to quit.

What genius designed the store layout at the Fairway on 125th? Is keeping customers in the store as long as possible their master plan?

It makes the Berkeley Bowl seem almost civilized.

The Fairway near me is a disaster zone as well. Always lots of people in there, and the employees are always refilling product with their giant carts that block anything and everything. I've been meaning to take a picture, they'll literally occupy entire aisles so you can't reach anything. I hate it.

The products at Fairway aren't particularly good either, and the fish is notably bad.

basically, the only reason I shop there is because I'm close to one. And because their house-brand butter is a good value. Else it's Citarella or Whole Foods.

the pelham fairway is my best option for many reasons. Fish not as good as yonkers WF, I admit.

I was desperate. The one advantage FW has over the BB is that the employees seem to bathe regularly.

FW is escher-like crazy with rooms that swallow you up and only seem to lead back into themselves.
