Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 79

This isn't limited to NYC, but I am not a fan of the plasitic sidewalk pedestrian mats found at some street corners. Most are missing tiles and I just avoid them in pretty much any weather. They are NOT safe to walk on with leather soled shoes, or even my duck or comando soled boots for that matter. The plastic provides zero grip and the angles at which they're applied makes it worse.

Similar to this, what looks to be subway, but tiled pieces rather than a single mat.

The Continental terminal at Newark isn't TOO bad, Terminal 5 for Jet Blue at JFK is great whereas whatever terminal Virgin America flies out of is a MESS. I've yet to do Delta out of LGA but everything else there has been crap...

I fly Delta out of LGA all of the time and it's a snap, as long as you're sure which terminal you're flying out of.

Assholes who dont salt their sidewalk.

Slipped no shit five times on my walk from the subway tonight. Black ice everywhere.

Do they even enforce this shit? It is ridiculous. It's fine for the city to require property owners to do the salting so long as they actually enforce it, which from what I can tell, they dont.

Bloomberg has enough on his hands with his malpractice suit against Dr. Pepper.

And speaking of the mayor's office, the media machine is starting to churn out revealing Christine Quinn profiles. I'm already sick of her.

Building staff that puts four inches of chemicals in front of their buildings in reaction to a quarter inch of snow are almost as bad. Days after a light snowfall, I still have to put those silly balloons on my dog's feet.

Reporter to Bloomberg: “In the spirit of gun control, will you disarm your entire security team?”

Stupid only because we know the answer--but the hypocrisy, arrogance and nanny-ism of the man are insufferable. Not to mention his total contempt for the Constitution.

Well, yeah, since he was in Washington DC and thus the NYPD goon had no jurisdiction...

But I'll bet that's not what you meant, did you, subject?

I currently live in Australia and am completing a Computer Science degree, once that's done, I'd like to move overseas permenatantly, New York's on my list, but the main thing stopping me are the strict laws on certain plants etc.
