Its the culinary equivalent of going to a Hong Kong tailor and getting a Hunstman, Cifonelli and Rubinacci styled suit made.

I am fortunate enough to have never gotten mugged in NYC, but I know so many people who have. I have reoccurring dreams where I do get mugged. It is awful.

I had an attempted mugging in Pasadena once, but he was a little dude and I fought him off.

I would imagine you wouldn't be an immediate target due to your height alone. A coworker of mine is about your height and he oddly was mugged by a small guy in Forte Greene. My coworker ended up punching him in the nose, but the little mugger managed to also punch him in the nose as well breaking it.

The cops told me they thought it was some sort of gang dare, like his bros said "Go get that guy" and he had to do it or lose face.

It's pretty good. Not something I'd say to go out of your way to try, however, if you have a friend or partner that's a vegetarian, I say go for it.

I suffered two attempted muggings in NY (and a successful one, too).
One of the attempts was a gang initiation, I was told (by the cops, when going through mug shots). I assume he didn't get in.

That would be the purpose. And also the neighborhood.

Go for it then. It was all pretty good but I recall liking the tomato dish and the hush puppies best.

When I was in high school I had to run away from a couple of attempted muggings while walking through Central Park.

I lived in NYC for 5 years and never had any issues.  One of my friends got mugged in park slope (Brooklyn).  Only have found memories of NY as opposed to the thread's subject.  My only complaint is a got interested in fashion only after moving to SF 2 years ago.  Vendor options MUCH better in NYC.

Being Canadian does not call for a warning; : )

I have a friend who got mugged and ended up in an argument with the guy. The mugger demanded his smartphone and his wallet. My friend got pissed off and told the guy that he didn't mind handing over his cash but the guy was just being a dick (his words) demanding his phone and his credit cards because his phone would be bricked and his credit cards would be cancelled within minutes. He insisted that handing them over would just be a massive PITA for him and and wouldn't benefit the mugger at all. He ended up giving the mugger $60 and agreeing not to report it to the police.

I was in Dallas over Super Bowl weekend for corporate training about 1999. We went to a bar in Deep Ellum (Copper Tank) and I stepped out to go use an ATM (no Edmorel) and someone ran up and tried to grab my cash. I threw him an elbow and he ran off. Funny how I can even remember the name of the bar.
