Pretty much everyone not from New York assumes everything in New York is a Midtown skyscraper.

And that living here will be just like Sex and the City! Sigh.

but... there is dog shit everywhere... since dogs are so prevalent there are a rising number of irresponsible dog owners (or worse those dog walkers with 10 dogs simultaneously on leash). its on the sidewalks, on the streets, its just everywhere.

I can understand wanting to own a dog if you have space, but it crosses the line when you need to lean over and pick up warm shit and then walk with it in a bag until you see a trash can.

there's trash cans at every corner. It's not undue hardship or anything.

Its more the act of picking up dog shit than trash can locations.

I think those are boomlet kids. My guess is that birth rates in those demographics have dropped since mid 2009.

26 year old entry-level PR gal wants her dream apartment. Searches, finds one for $775K w/$1k per month maintenance. Mommy and Daddy pick up the mortgage and she goes about her UMC white girl life with aplomb.

Get a small dog and feed them biologically appropriate raw food. Yes, BARF.

If you feed a dog corn and ground up industrial meat waste, their output will be copious.

Am I missing something? Why is a story about rich people spending money news-worthy?

The NYT loves to run these fairy tale real estate stories.

again you're commenting on something thats a general conduct practiced across this whole country. poop bags are sold in virginia, new haven, providence, and kalamazoo so that means people plan to pick up warm shit in other exotic locals throughout the USA too.

sure if you're in some open field in wyoming you can let your dog shit and not pick it up with minimal repercussions .

But I highly doubt it because even most large national parks have rules against dog waste in the form of "carry in carry out" type of sayings. but it would be rude to leave dog shit in the middle of a metro area public park regardless of city.

In my specific case there is dog shit all over McCarren Park and the surrounding areas, I've noticed it in other large NYC parks as well. thats why I specifically think NYC sucks.
