Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 741

There are any number of reasons to be sitting in a car in NYC.

The video of the crane falling is harrowing. The poor guy just minding his own business as a few thousand tons beelined for his head.

I mean I see it excessively. 10 PM in the warehouse district of East Williamsburg, and I'd bet you $20 that there'll be somebody just sitting in a turned off car within the next block or two. I see it almost every time I'm out to walk to dog. If it didn't perplex me, then I probably wouldn't notice how prevalent it is.

That was bad. Like a month after the earthquake, too.

I worked in environments similar to this for 30 years and I only experienced a crane almost going over once . It was my error that caused it too. Not something I'll likely ever forget

What are everyone's thoughts on Peter Luger?

Had it for the first time this weekend. I thought it was very good but I liked the bacon better than the steak truth be told.

a steakhouse is a steakhouse. You overpay and overeat.

BTW - actually ate at Sweet Science on Saturday. Brunch, in fact, which I never do. Really good.

And then I went to a new bakery that opened up just around the corner and spent $10 on 4 normal sized cookies ffffuuuu.gif

Much truth to this.

When I first got to NY, I thought Luger was the end-all. I probably haven't been in 15 years. I sort of got beyond steakhouses, I think. I did go to Wolfgang's several years ago, which is sort of a little Luger.

Agreed on the thoughts about Luger's and steakhouses in general. I didn't even care for that bacon they have and their sides are garbage. I don't mind Keen's since it's convenient for me to get to and has that mutton chop which isn't something you see everywhere.

I actually like Luger's, but go to Wolfgang's more often just because it's more convenient.

steakhouses - because expense accounts exist.

+1

The problem I have with steakhouses is that they allow for no illusion about how badly you are being screwed. When I go to most restaurants I think, "Wow, this is really good! The chef did a great job!" When I go to a steakhouse I think "Wow! this is really good! I could have cooked this myself at home for 1/10 the price!"
