Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 739

I grew up with some Swifts of the meat packing family and they would serve bacon with every meal. Just a bowl of bacon on the table; breakfast, lunch and dinner . And if we were watching a movie or game on tv, there would be a bowl of bacon along with the popcorn and chips. Used to dip the bacon in Lipton California dip. Yum!

There's white stuff floating down from the sky. Any idea what this is?

If any of you guys survive the blizzard, come join us for a meet-up this coming Tuesday, the 26th, starting at 6pm at Lallisse. The restaurant is located at 161 Lexington Avenue, at 30th street. Hope to see you there.

Yeah. I thought it was going to mostly miss NY. I hope everybody on this thread has the luxury of lounging at home all weekend. This is a day to spend drinking skinny decaf lattes while huddled around the sous vide.

So the last time they overestimated and shut down Central Park for some crazy reason. This time they completely underestimate, close the roads (how the hell are people supposed to do business), but seem to be keeping the park open to allow people to have fun with their kids.

Missing Bloomberg.

Does anyone have a trusted framer in town? Just purchased a large 54 x 48 photo and I need a conservation mount and simple frame.

Have used AJ Friedman in the past, but not sure they're up to this.

When we lived in Chelsea, we used the one at the corner or 9 and 22 and they always did a great job. I remember them being expensive but I think most NYC framers are?

I'll check them out. Already preparing for the sticker shock of a conservation mount and glass. Even with a simple frame. Wonder if I get a discount if I mention Gome's wife?

The pic.

edit: first ballpark quote - 4500

Art is fun.

I've always paid an arm and a leg for framing. I remember the first time I went in and they were asking me questions like "real wood, or fake wood?" (In my mente) I was like, why would anybody want fake wood? Then I had to pay the bill and almost had a coronary.

I've used these guys and they were fantastic, imo. http://www.drydengalleryframing.com

Talked to the gallery that reps this artist and her work is typically mounted on 1/4" aluminum with a cutout for the signature, title, number and date, then glazed in UV non-glare plexiglass.

Can't wait for that quote.
