Reasons why New York Sucks - Page 711

finally put in a few miles on the bike. Was not hit by a car and I did not crash. Stayed in the East W'Burg area, and zig zagged the streets from Roberta's up to Xi'an famous foods.

W'Burg roads are in all sorts of conditions. Some smooth, some terrible, some one degree below old cobblestones. Hit the last one with any sort of speed and it feel like a mechanical bull. Decided to start a little bit of sprint training before very quickly realizing yeah, don't do that on these roads, and if you're going to take a corner, do it very slowly since that new road might begin with a 6" sinkhole.

Holy shit! No one brought up the pending "heat wave" this week?
Have the posters in this thread been abducted?

I was wondering why no one commented on the announcement about rebuilding LaGuardia. I figured Manton was sitting in a darkened room staring at the wall, aghast that he now owes a debt of gratitude to Joe Biden but I had no idea what happened to everyone else.

I really hate restaurants who cheap out on the AC. They will just open all of the front windows and doors as if it is pleasurable to eat food in the sweltering humidity. Any people actually doing that should be checked to see if they are from said lizard planet.

I suppose the rebuild will help with connections - not having to go outside and back through security when connecting from B to C for example - but the ferry idea is a joke when everyone knows they need to scrap the silly bass-ackwards AirTrain from Willets and just extend the N with concrete pillars over the two blocks of NAMBYs in Astoria who have blocked that proposal for 20 years.

My leg is healed up enough to ride my bike lightly. Just in time for this lovely heat. Shorts and technical fabric polos all week for me!

I am 100% certain that they will rebuild La Guardia.

But I am also 100% certain that it will not be on-time and not be on-budget.

I am 150% certain that, while they are doing construction, people will fondly recall the days when it could be unfavorably compared to a third-world airport. Because, while they are doing construction, it will be unfavorably compared to a third-world refugee camp.

As soon as it's built it will be out of date already too.
