I figured there was. I grew up on the east coast of Canada and wasn't sure what the beaches looked like in N.Y.

The LCBO and Brewer's Retail really sucked if you lived in a tiny town. Odds were 50/50 that when you walked in one of the workers would know you. Hard to buy underage booze when that happens.

Beaches in NY blow compared to California.

Also, it's a myth that there are beautiful women everywhere here. Actually most of them are hard-bitten hags. Over-made up, leathery tans, gaudy clothes. I've always been partial to hippie chicks but last week, the three UCSC grad students cleaning dolphin urine and seal poop at the Long Marine Lab were prettier than all the Manhattan career wenches I saw today.

You need to spend more time downtown. There isn't a good looking person north of 23rd street

Brooklyn and LES aren't all that attractive either. Even when I loved going to NYC and was single I was blown away by what passed for desirable there. Can't say I've shared Manton's experience of beautiful women north of Santa Barbara however.

The Atlantic ocean coast is surprisingly nice actually given the proximity to NYC. Pain to get to (getting back to why NY's transpo infrastructure sucks) but it is lovely when you get there.

Ocean Beach in SF which is sunny about 1% of the year is nicer than any beach around here. Seabright is the best beach in the US.
