Up to $1500 to buy a suit, front range of Colorado... suggestions?

One of the online MTM places?

Brooks Brothers?  There's an outlet store in addition to a regular shop nearby... anyone have experience with their outlets?  Worthwhile?  Some outlet places are rip-offs (in my opinion).

Go with a local MTM tailor?  There's a guy in Colo Springs (Bill Kurtz) who will do a made to measure suit, made in US suit, for less than a grand.  I wish I could find some reviews on him... he's been downtown Colo Springs a long time though.  Anyone aware of decent places in Denver?

This will be for occasional wear to work, dining out, cultural events... and possibly even just hitting downtown and wanting to look better than the rest!  bigstar[1].gif

I'm new to this... any suggestions/advice appreciated!

Visit your local man and examine his standards of workmanship. Ask him how much he makes and how much he sends to a factory. IF all is the latter then go to an RTW store and but that which fits and suits your wallet - or find another local tailor and go through the same process.

If your body is "typically" proportioned, check out Hickey Freeman suits at Nordstrom. If you can wait for the anniversary or the men's half yearly sale, you can typically get a very nice suit for well under $1000.

I think the stuff at the brooks brothers outlets are that "343" or whatever the number is in front of brooks brothers. Last time i was at one of their outlets all the shirts/suits/sports coats were from that line which i have a feeling is a line made for outlets. I mean if you can wait then wait for the actual brooks brothers store to go on sale.
