Shopping for 1500 $ in Hong Kong

I am going to Hong Kong in April for a shopping trip. I have planned a budget of about USD 1500,-- for shopping.

I want to buy some shirts probably a suite as well and I am also open to all other bargains (shoes?).

Reading the forum I think visiting Jantzen would be a good choice. Are there any other recommendations?

Thanks!

You could always check Lane Crawford and Sogo if there are discounted shoes, and Testoni also has stores around HK.

for 1500 USD, you'd get around 11000 HKD. And with that money, depending on what kind of clothes I needed to bolster my wardrobe:

1) Some custom shirts - 6 shirts @ 300/shirt = 1800 HKD
2) Depending on your taste, try a custom made shoe from Zee's = 1200 HKD
3) Buy a custom made suit for around 4000 HKD
4) Custom made cuff links - 1500 HKD
5) Also I love Altea, so I'd get myself some ties from Altea (if you're not from a place which doesn't have cheap Altea)

1. Start at Mandarin Oriental, check out Lobb (out of your budget, but what the hey?), then head upstairs to Mayer Shoes + A Man tailor.

2. Cross the overhead bridge to Prince's bldg, a few good tailors in there, plus Kow Hoo for shoes (also over budget, but may be worth a look). Walk outside to Berluti.

3. Head around the corner to Landmark and look around. All the bigs are in there, not many great deals though.

4. Exit on pedder side and head across des voux rd to Worldwide house (Jantzen). Pick up a few shirts here.

5. Cross the footbridge to IFC. Stop by Lane Crawford and look around. Weston is there along with a bunch of others.

6. If you still have money, take the MTR or Star Ferry from IFC to TST. You will find Seibu and others (WW Chan, Zee's and a bunch of other tailors) all in close proximity. Poke around in the Peninsula Arcade and Ocean Terminal if you are not tired yet.

If it were me, I budget $1000 for a decent suit and the rest on whatever else. Maybe order a few shirts from different places, so you can order from overseas from whichever one you like the best.

Shoes are not a great buy here, but it is a good place to look. Sometimes you can find some good one off sale prices. Sizes on RTW can be hard to find.

Thanks a lot for your recommendations. Just one additional question.

Do you have any recommendations where to buy a bepoke suit for approx. USD 500 in Hong Kong? Or would you recommend to buy a off-the-self suite from my local boss store instead and invest the money in Hong Kong in something else?

1. I wouldn't go for shoes in hong kong, I would go for bespoke suits and shirts

2. for $500 you should be able to get a very good suit. If I were you, I would aim at getting 2 suits and 10-12 shirts. leave the jewlery and the shoes for other places. IMO
