Sound off on this face regimen? - Page 2

do you sleep on clean sheets? your facial cleaning routine seems a bit excessive to me. i have always had problems with acnes and zits and now my face is quite clear. I recommend trying just a mild soap, hot water, and most importantly clean linen. after you shower, do you always use new towels? using new towels helps eliminate bacteria from transfering on your face. also, clean sheets on your bed makes sure that after you have cleared your pores you wont lay your face on more dirt and bacteria.

I've recently switched to a "natural" line of skincare called Dr. Hauschka. It seems counter intuitive at first because of the natural oils cointained in the products (like the face oil) but it's cleared up my skin better than anything I've ever used. Your skin may be oily, like mine is/was, but you do still need to have some moisture. Natural oils (like Jojoba) simulate your skin's sebum so that your skin won't try to overproduce oil (as it often does after being assaulted by heavy acids or benzyl peroxide). Dr Hauscka is on the expensive side but for $20 or so you can purchase a "travel kit" which is basically a sample pack. (As an aside, apparently a lot of celebrities use it--whether or not that means anything...)

I use the face cleanser (it's like an exfoliant scrub but you don't scrub it on your face--you use their "press and roll" technique), the toner, the face oil (moisturizer), and the eyecream. I also use Estee Lauder's Fruition Extra (AHA/BHA lotion) after the toner but before the face oil, twice per day and I add a sunscreen--ideally daily--such as Clinique's Super City Block SPF 15 or 25 (which also provides a barrier to prevent pollutants and free radicals from getting in through your skin). And once or twice a week, I use a clay mask. Once per week, I might use a "mechanical" exfoliator for a more hard-core scrub, something like Biotherm Homme's exfoliating scrub.

Also, I recommend getting a professional facial once per month or so.

I also started using Dr. Hauschka recently and found that it has really helped improve my acne-prone skin. Granted it has taken a while using their products morning and night as directed to achieve results (I use their cleanser, clarifying toner, and normalizing oil), but I can see a remarkable difference. It is definitely on the expensive side, but I think that their philosophy on skin care is great, and if it costs a bit more for clear skin, then I am ok with that.

Here's a great website for getting their products cheaper: www.saffronrouge.com Just search for Dr.Hauschka

you sound pretty insane going through such a routine - all those products can't possibly be good for you either. See a dermatologist if you have skin problems.
