Most forum softwares offer the option of either allowing or declining search bots. I've allowed them on my little Finnish forum as the level of dress up here North is discouraging. English language forums abound and I'm sure The London Lounge keeps a small profile to attract only those who're serious about tailoring. To call them addicts would be naughty, but it really is an addiction of sorts if one won't settle for the modest prices.

It may be they are no longer accepting new accounts for this month.

Yes, could be. I registered on the 24th and have yet to receive the 2nd email saying my account is active.

Perhaps he's seen the light and decided not to contribute to the owners pension fund.

Perhaps they want to filter out ignorant newbies.

Or newbies who start seamingly endless topics like

"what are you wearing today?

what are you listening to?

what books have you read?

do you wear brown shoes  by a blue suit?

where can I buy loafers?

what car do you drive?"

And the list is endless.

In short : skim some forums  (including this one), and you'll have your answer in seconds.

I don't have much affection either for the type of people you describe, but I don't see how they could know for sure if you're a newbie or not when registering. I tried two times to register in the past, but to not avail. I seem to recall I even sent a mail some weeks later to ask politely if registering wasn't the correct way to access the forum. No answer. Too bad as they seemed to have some nice content on fabrics.

Be careful what you wish for, Alden regularly censors posts that mention mills or merchnats other than his 'cloth club', as well as anything not on his agenda.  The continual bemoaning of they don't make anything like they used to, except the 'cloth club' natch rather grates on the nerves after a while.

I wanted some LL cloth. Tried to register twice this year, about 6 months apart. No sweat, a little thing like that isn't going to ruffle my feathers (SF = plumes). I simply looked elsewhere.

Good luck

Hello gentleman, I don't mean to be a bother, but I am having the same issue with my London Lounge account. I was hoping, does any one have the solution. I read that you have to email Michael Alden, but it appears his email isn't readily available. Please help me if you can. Thank you
