Hi all,

As promised, a prize.

The poll will last until Midnight, GMT, Friday. The winner will be announced on Sunday. Only one vote per poster, so choose wisely. And don't click on the wrong button by mistake.

The winner will receive choice of a Drake's Tie or something else of similar value - I'm leaning towards an Epaulet shirt right now, but the SW&D styles are so diverse that I don't really want to shoehorn something in that some of the potential winner might not love. The member who nominated him will receive the same or similar prize. All threads barring affiliate threads and gag threads/post will be eligible (many apologies to Fuuma, who is being robbed here.)

All the posts, threads, will be put in the carousel for a vistory lap for this week only, so please go to the front page and browse.

Or click on these here links:

Looks like Synthese has a solid lead. Wonder, if he wins, whether he will go for the Drake's tie option.

perhaps as a consequence of the mutiny, disruption of old order, etc.

Honestly, it probably has more to do with the way people tend to browse. A lot of members browse only their subscriptions, and this would mean that the poll is a level down, even if they are subscribed to the contest thread. Combine that with the fact that I deliberately did not pin the thread in order to see how many votes get out without high visibility, and put the thread in SW&D, and you get what you get. Note that the number of views from SW&D is not very high either, and that the views to action are about 5:1 to 6:1, which is indicative of the browsing patterns here as well. I need to delve a few levels deeper to say anything more conclusive.

The only publicity so far for the poll has been 2 tweets and a Facebook status update. Call it a social (media) experiment. I'm going to spam the random thoughts and other high volume threads a bit. Then I'm going to put out a site announcement, and see what these perturbations do.

People read too much into stuff without sitting back to analyze the actions of the different actors, from me to member behavior.

They are deciding now. Oh, right, Synthese and sidekick SVB won this inaugural round.

Congrats, gentlemen.

Next round of voting will take place in MC.

Cheers,

Fok.
