I've never had Air Max running shoes but was planning to get the Flyknits. I may have to skip them then.

flyknits and rosherun are most comfortable shoes I have worn

I am not really sure how people can run in AirmMaxes, they are just so heavy and high off the ground in comparison to other running shoes today. If i were going to run in something bulkier and heavier, id go with the Vomero. Not even really sure the 360 Airmax sole has any benefits anymore.

^no unless the aau team is specifically involved with adidas.

the tech just isn't there.

it's funny, they say the lebron 11 are revolutionary from an industrial design perspective but all my kids say they hurt their feet

Even Lebron don't wear the 11's........The 8's were the best LBJ shoe for me, even the lows.

I agree. I see there's a new style of air bubble too that is super chunky and I thought the same. It sits at least an inch off the ground and I would lack stability sprinting in them.

They are a lifestyle shoe now. I dont think they have been a performace shoe since the first model.

They were and are definitely advertised as a performance shoe, the Max Air tech was just too big or "revolutionary" to be put into it to be a lifestyle shoe. When it first came out, there likely wasn't even a lifestyle shoe yet within Nike.

If you go to NDC, it is placed right there with the neutral ride shoes for running and even their ad says it all:

NIKE AIR MAX 2014
AIR SUPERIORITY
Ultimate cushioning for an unstoppable run.
