Nike Free RN Distance launches today... somewhere... $120

It looks very interesting, it has the flexibility of the free sole and comfort of the lunarlon and I do like that old lunar midsole style, a lot!
Quote:
“This shoe is for those who want natural motion that goes the distance,” says Chuck Gatchell, VP Run Natural at Nike. “It’s for the person who runs in the 5.0, but wants to have the confidence and cushioning to go longer. It also should bring in those who are ‘naturally curious’ and serve as a gateway shoe to the Free line.”

Quote:
Inside, however, is a core of firmer, bouncier Lunarlon foam, which runners know from Nike’s Lunar running collection. The flex hexagons on this model are larger than other Frees and arranged to provide more lateral stability. Plus, the two layers of foam put you farther off the ground and more protected than ever before in a Free. The resulting shoe Gatchell describes as, “somewhat north of the 5.0, but south of more traditional running shoes.”

What makes this shoe still a Free is that it incorporates many of the principles that define “natural” at Nike. These include:

a heel-toe drop of 8mm or less
no heel counter
a simple, unstructured upper
flexibility and range of motion to allow full foot action

“The foot is in control in these shoes,” says Gatchell. “You don’t have to be minimal to be free. It’s about natural, not minimal.”

Initial wear-testers report that the Free RN Distance delivers on the comfortable, moccasin-like feel of other models in the line, with a cushy, protected ride that was appreciated most on easy runs of any distance.

Perfect.
Still want a squadron blue tonal version of the mercurial.

When's the black/white coming out, January? All white looks good, speckled soles is whatever, not that bad.

Yeah all white would be redundant with my white innevas and white inneva mids but I just love the silhouette of the mercurials. Speaking of which my savage beauties came in today. More pink irl but I'll probably still keep them. Still need a pot of the htm's bit I've never found a pair of 12's for under $375 in any colour. I really don't want to spend over $350 so it looks like I will never get a pair.

Finally got a pair of Metcons in (almost a year later lol8[1].gif ) and they felt good but there's too much negative space on the top of the toe. It's not too big either because it's just about right length-wise and perfect width-wise for my wide feet.

It's definitely better than the TR1but I think overall since I don't do crossfit, just the usual HIIT training that the Zoom Speed 3 might be better, I like the Metcons enough to keep it on rotation though.

Need a pair of water resistant/proof kicks for rainy days.. patch[1].gif The Lunaterra Arktos boots have been a reliable companion for the last couple years but they are a hassle when I need to take them off/on outside.

Why do you have to take your boots off outside?

As a suggestion, I know Cole Haan isn't with Nike anymore but this is somewhat in vein of their designs and 30% off at nordstrom right now: Cole Haan 'ZeroGrand Sport' Waterproof Winter Boot

It's like duck boots x free x nike boots

Even the shield shoes seem to take in moisture after walking under weather for some time. I might just get some ugly gore-tex shoes.

Pure Platinum Footscape Magistas are releasing too.

New ACG stuff looks really good. It's all on Nike UK now, I'll probably grab a pair of the cargo's and woven pants. Bomber and Jacket look great too but too much money for me right now.

Was just about to post the boots.

The boots look really good in the promo/look book stuff but I'm not yet sold after seeing the product shots.

I feel like every Nike release looks twice as good in product shots.
