I don't possess your level of willpower MoL, but I have all the staples and then some in my wardrobe so I don't NEED anything. I've slowed down my buying a lot in recent months and unless I see ridiculous bargains etc. I'm operating on a fairly strict one out one in policy now.

I'm gonna finish strong this month. You can probably count me out in October but I shall return again!smile.gif

We've run month-by-month clubs and multi-month clubs and most are more comfortable taking a single month challenge so it is good either way. When ever I feel like spending I wear the oldest crap I can to punish myself until my better stuff looks good to me again.

So when was the last time you caved MoL? Do you have the patience of a Trappist monk, or have you had moments of weakness, or do you have a big enough wardrobe that you really don't need anything at all and can resist temptation.

There was an interesting thread on here maybe a couple of years ago along the lines of 'when do you have enough?', i.e. do some people reach their goal while others will continue accumulating till they are in the grave?

Apparently, I've mistaken the last year Sept no purchase club for this year - LOL

Anyway,

does paying your tailor for altering previously purchased clothing item count?

Ianiceman, I have enough clothes to last me more than a lifetime. (example- 150 pairs of shoes, 250 dress shirts, 300 ties, etc) I may well be the sickest member of the group. Do I weaken? Ofcourse, which is why I happily run the NPC of late. When we break for the summer months, this is where I purchase, but sparingly. When I ever get organized, I will do a massive cull and place a lot of clothes for sale on the BS.

Alright everyone......It is Monday......Please ring in. How did you all get through the weekend? I am still purchase-free.

If it was truthfully both an emergency and the expenditure kept under or to the $100 mark, you are ok. If not, you have fallen.

Survived the weekend. Pretty sure I can make it for another week.

It was only $16 for 2 jackets that I gave him a long time ago and completely forgot about...

I had family visiting from India and we took them shopping. I failed, bought 2 shirts from J crew, 1 tie and pocket square from Talbott, and a pair of cufflinks at BB. Total damage: $225

I fail :-(

Time to order my belts from equus

You have to stay strong. Just because you failed once doesn't mean that you have to give up entirely. There is only one week left. See if you can hold out.

Still going strong, had to use $60 of my emergency fund to replace some worn-out socks and t-shirts.

I'm still in, but just pondering where dry cleaning fits in the oath. I have a couple of pairs of strides that have marks, the sooner they are sent to the cleaner the more relaxed I will be that the marks will come out, but I can wait another week if it means sacrificing my unblemished record to this point!

going strong because suitsupply isn't delivering my DB-suit.
