Hey Everyone, so I am getting married in October and need to find a pair of reasonably priced ($200-$350) oxford laced patent leather tuxedo shoes. I have tried all high-end department stores with no luck. All carrying the same 3 brands....Ferragamo, Boss and Prada. Anybody have any suggestions on where to go?

You can go to Brooks Brothers and get a Peale and Co. patent leather balmoral for $348. I believe Alden has a similar shoe at a similar price.
Florsheim has an even cheaper one (low $100s).

The Alden and the Brooks Brothers should be well-constructed high quality shoes, moreso than the brands you have already looked at.

When you say you had no luck, did they just not have them in your size?

Edit: Saw that the poster went to the Madison store.

Alden will have patent oxfords that are goodyear-welted and they can order your size if they don't have it. The Peals sold at Brooks are not goodyear-welted as far as I know.

Ok, it's not exactly what you asked but the Crockett & Jones Cheam is approx. $350 (£211.00) if you order them online:

You could always go in the NYC C&J store on 56th and see if you like them.

If you go to BB on Madison be sure to go up half a block and check Paul Stuart too.
http://www.paulstuart.com/
Their website just has a patent blutcher for $375 but they always have a lot more in store than on their site:

Just to add, if the Alden shop is out the shoe in your size, you can try J. Press or J. Crew, as they carry Aldens as well.

Actually, the Peal patent leather oxford IS goodyear welted. I have a pair.

Formal shoes being light, I'd much prefer that it is not welted, like the one that Edward Green makes, which Leffot carries.

What do you mean square-toed? Is the shape not elongated enough for you?

In that case, try Paul Stuart, 1/2 block up the street.

I have the same pair that I picked up at one of the sales over the winter. It is a decent shoe and Goodyear Welted. I do agree that it could be slimmer. Also, I had to order "C" width as the heels run wide and the "D" makes them look a little blobby in my 11.5. The "C" is about as wide as a regular "D" and it enlongates the look of the shoe.

I recall C&J having exactly what you seek but more expensive than your stated price. Lobb also has an excellent example but is closer to $1500.

I have the Leffot version, but it is a plain toed derby.

Paul Stuart's are not a plain toed oxford.

Hmm, you might be right that it isn't $350, but it should be a bit under $550 as well. I saw a few links on the internet for this shoe in the $450 range.
