I'm going to make ginger syrup this weekend I think. Key ingredient for both a Dark and Stormy and Moscow Mule.

Ginger syrup for those cocktails? Isn't the ginger beer sweet enough? Or do you make your own ginger beer? Speaking of it, has any of you guys made Falernum, tonic water etc.? And where can I source fresh griottes/maraska cherries in Europe?

The ginger syrup is to make ginger beer and the ginger beer is for the D&S. Ginger beer would be just soda water plus the syrup.

I ordered the six pack of bitters from www.bittercube.com last night.

I bought a lewis bag and muddler. Got really nice ice cube tray (1in all around squares) Want to make mint juleps at home before the season is over. May buy some bourbon or rye next week for it.

Very cool. A Lewis shows a level of dedication that 99% of home drinkers lack. Pics will be required of the Julep.

Just ordered a couple things, too -- thread needs more pics.

Lurch icecube trays 4x4cm

400

Lurch spherical icecube tray thingy (6.5cm diameter). I hope that stuff works somewhat ok.

400

Some crushed ice maker (until now I used dish towel and big hammer, but that always resulted in some snow and some flakes).

400

I think you're right. Here's the mixing glass I'm obsessing over but for some reason can't get myself to part with the $60 for it. I figure I'll smarten up and buy it soon:

A video of it in action used to mix my favorite cocktail in the world:

I have a spherical ice cube tray (makes 3 balls at a time, works great), and a silicon "king cube" tray (about 2" cubes). Both are great, cheap, and very useful.

For bitters I have the following:
Fee Bros.:
West Indian Orange
Cherry
Peach
Lemon
Mint
Rhubarb
Grapefruit
Plum
Whiskey Barrel Aged
Old Fashioned

Bittercube Cherry Bark Vanilla
The Bitter End Thai
Peychaud's
Angostura

I'd like to get another grapefruit of some sort, and another orange (Regans?).

I have Regan's and find the Fee Brothers West Indies far superior. Looking forward to getting my six pack of Bittercube.

You will enjoy the cherry bark vanilla in your manhattans. Adds a little something different.

I've been using Velvet Tango Room bitters for the last couple of years ever since I spent a great night there. Looking forward to trying something new.

Also, getting a barrel to cask age some cocktails, so might use a Bittercube as the bitters for that.

I own the Yarai mixing glass. There are far worse ways to spend $60 ($52.95 from Cocktail Kingdom).

I have the following bitters:
Angostura
Peychaud's
Regan's No. 6
Fee Brothers Whiskey Barrel Aged
Bittermens Xocolatl Mole (highly recommended!)
Bittermens Boston Bittahs
Bitter Truth Celery (more versatile than you would think)

I can't think of any others I need right now. I might add a grapefruit, but it would be repetitive of the Bittermens Citron Sauvage I have.
