Need some ideas for a staple navy suit.(Slim/RLBL-like cut)

I'm basically looking for your run of the mill 2 button, solid navy suit these days. On that can be found for around 400-600$ used. I've missed about 5 RLPL/RLBL suits in a row now, so I'm starting to give up on RL and expanding my horizons.

2 Buttons, side vents, regular lapel width, solid navy (not too blue, not too dark), half or full canvas, not too high button stance.

FF pants.

Slimmer cut, like RLBL. I loved the ones that I've tried.

If you've tried, or know about any suits that will match the above description, do tell.

I looked at the BB 1818 Fitzgerald models, but it seems like they're doing to slim lapel + high button stance thing. And center vent.

Check the eHaberdasher Benjamin suits. $500, fully canvassed, side vents, and the new models coming out within a month are supposed to have a slightly lower button stance.

Thanks, I've been looking at those.

For the SF Benjamin owners: How is the cut? normal/trad cut, or slimmer?

Slim. Here's a picture I took and posted in the ehaberdasher affiliate thread:

I think Corneliani suits go for about $400-600 pre-owned on Ebay and they're made pretty well. Half-canvassed, I believe, and meet the criteria you listed.

Good question OP, I am in the same boat. Unfortunately I am a 36r which adds an additional layer of difficulty, I also prefer made in Italy. Any more suggestions would be appreciated...

Not navy, but I picked up a 36 steel grey Caruso from yoox recently for ~ $550 after steep markdowns. Fit is similar to RLBL overall with softer shoulders and shorter length (the one I got was a R but ~ 28.5 BOC).

Check out yoox for Caruso or similar. Have also seen some Hickeys floating around including on bluefly for < $500 which fit slim and are half-canvassed, but have a relatively higher button stance.

I picked up a gray nailhead Caruso from Yoox as well, actually over the last month I ordered just about every grey and navy 36r and 38r they had, only one keeper out of the lot.

Kent Wang sells a Charcoal suit. Not sure about the cut.

What's the deal with Tom Ford-era Gucci suits?

I know that he turned Gucci around, but did he have anything to do with mens suits? If so, how is the quality?

See some TF Gucci suits going every now and then on Ebay, same price as used Prada and other fashion brands...usually with nice lapels and skinnier fits.
