Thom Browne - Made in Japan?

Today I saw a nice fall/winter navy wool blazer from TB, but made in Japan. Anyone know who made this? Similar quality to the stuff that was made in NY?

His financiers are now from Japan, they produce in their own factories. I am ok with the new stuff but YMMV.

They still make in NY, although I think only the made to measure suits and the ties, maybe some other stuff.

Only MtM + certain suits/coats but most are made in Japan now and sold at a much lower pricepoint. All of my suits are of the old stock but I have a sportscoat made in japan and it is fine.

Haven't seen the Japan stuff yet, are the fabrics the same as the USA stuff? I see their MTM all the time, they use Japanese wool fabric (for the suit and ties) which I like a lot .

Not too sure, they still have grey flannel and wool suits like the ones from before, dunno if it is the exact same fabric. I'm assuming they switched for the heavy grey wool w. grosgrain piping suits cause the goal was to lower the price point and these were $$$.

Yes the SC that I saw a couple days ago was quite a bit lower in price than what TB was traditionally; probably on the order of 50% less than the old MSRP. However, I was relieved to see that the functional sleeves are still a mainstay on the Japanese piece.
