So, what have you guys found? We don't have either inside the country here, but we've shopped through a number or American TJ Maxxs and German TK Maxxs.

Most of the time not a whole lot frown.gif

Have heard of folks around these parts picking up Kiton, Loro Piana etc stuff. I guess ones mileage varies depending on location.

I've heard of so much and I've caught some great stuff between the seasons. I haven't been to the stores in awhile so I have to live vicariously through everyone else.

I can occasionally find some polo blazer in Reading's TK Maxx, otherwise it is pretty shit

Mind to share where are the stores you can find LP or Kiton? Is it in UK?

The only TK Maxxs I've been in are in Germany. We'll be in Reading in the fall, any recommendations?

Skip the place, it is absolutely shit. University is ok.

Better head to Paddington for the real deal.

Very hit and miss.

The recent 'golden era' was the result of a huge influx of goods from a Greek store, called Carouzos.

It looks like they are still trading. However, given that 3 of their brick and mortar stores are a 5 minute walk from Sytnagma square, it looks like they found themselves with a serious surplus of stock, somewhere around the beginning of 2011. Stock which TK Maxx bought up.

In 2011, I picked up Marinella and Kiton ties for £30 a piece; Zegna mainline jackets for £250; PRL trousers for £40-£60 and even saw some Kiton and Brioni suits for £400-£600. Isaia and Kiton shirts tended to retail for £60-£80. Cucinelli showed up from time to time, although no real staples. For the SWD crowd, Rag and Bone and Gilded Age were also fairly prominent, at similar discounts.

Almost all of this Carouzos stock is long gone though. I went to the Bank store this weekend and the menswear selection was lamentable at best.

The days you could find Bamford & Sons overstock in TK Maxx for next to nothing, have well and truly gone (mind you, so has Lady Bamford's vanity shop).

I once bought a RLPL polo in Daytona, Florida. I saw some Prada jeans in Hilton Head, South Carolina which looked to have been there forever. I always hold out hope that a shipment of top stuff will mistakenly make it to mid-Michigan: no dice so far.

Marshall's (a sister brand of Maxx) is far more fruitful for me. In the past year (off the top of my head) I have picked up the following from my two local locations:

Loro Piana cashmere Roadster in maroon (for $80)
Loro Piana cashmere navy turtleneck (for $120)
Loro Piana 50/50 cashmere/cotton button down (for $70)
Brunello Cucinelli cashmere sweater (for $200)
Brunello Cucinelli 50/50 linen/cotton button down (for $60)
RLPL cashmere pullover (for $120)
RLPL white OCBD (for $40)
Finamore shirts (x2) (for $70 a piece)
Kiton Bengal striped shirt (for $70)

I'm sure there's more, but that's what I can think of at the moment. I routinely see Brioni, Kiton, RLPL, Corneliani, Cantarelli, Brunello Cucinelli, Inis Meain, Prada, Dior, Gucci, Versace, Ferragamo and Burberry at my two locations. Not all of it is that cheap and not all of it is that conservative/serviceable, but in terms of brands there is never a shortage of head turners. Recently the biggest splash was made by a slew of Rubinacci (by Attolini) sport coats. Unfortunately none of them were my size and all of them were of a rather ghastly fabric.

First post for a long time lurker.  TJ Maxx is very hit or miss though lately I have seen and purchased a few nice items.  Very good selection of undergarments.  Bought some nice Ralph Lauren over the calf socks and a pair of Calvin Klein grey trousers that fit me perfectly.  They also had a selection of Brooks Brothers ties, though none I was interested in.  I find myself going there more often.

Which location is this?

Found a Luciano Barbera unstructured blazer for $199 at my local Marshalls. They also have a pretty good selection of Corneliani summer blazers <$299 and several Kiton suits.
The Marshalls I frequent has a made in Italy rack, I have not seen this elsewhere. Sadly I rarely buy anything as most the stock is usually larger sizes.
