The legs in the second photo belong, in fact, to James Bond (played by Sean Connery, I think).
Here are some rare examples in leather, which is more what I am after:
The first is Shipton Heneage, the second Paul Stuart. So my first question is, is this style ever made at an affordable (<150) price, in an informal fabric or non-black leather?
My second question is asked in anticipation of a negative response to the first. Where can I get affordable house shoes? Here are some examples:
The first is a pair from A Suitable Wardrobe ($370), the second a less exciting Derek Rose grecian slipper. What distinguishes the ASW pair from loafers is the absence of tassels/penny slot. Mocassins come close, but usually the stitching at the toe is very coarse and abrupt. A plain toe, or a moc stiched toe with the seam turned inward, is what I am looking for. I will settle for the Derek Rose if I have to, but I would rather have something more durable and suitable for wear in public places, like the library where I spend most of my day.
Your help is most appreciated!
