Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba and Stellan Skarsgard returns. Not sure if Anthony Hopkins returns as Odin though.

Christopher Eccleston will be the villain as Malekith, ruler of the Dark Elves.

Tom Hiddleston (Loki) on the film:
Quote:
“I don't want to give too much away. But I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed. Alan Taylor's vision of Thor 2 is utterly brilliant. The journey continues in the most epic dimension and proportion imaginable. It's very, very exciting."

I wonder what the final look of Malekith will be. Im excited to see the outcome of this movie.

I really like the first one, so I'm looking forward to this. Chris Hemsworth is attractive more than his body, he has got a great personality as well.

Chris Hemsworth does a fine job. I don't think I would have liked Thor as much if he didn't play the title character.

Chris Hemsworth seems to be just the perfect Thor to be honest.

In other news, more villains.

Thor 2 Lands Another Villain

Variety is reporting that actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be taking on two villain roles, sort of, for the upcoming Marvel Studios film Thor: The Dark World. He will be portraying Algrim the Strong and Kurse.

Algrim first appeared in Thor #347 and was one of the most powerful of the dark elves. He is given the task of killing Thor by Malekith the Accursed (set to be played by Christopher Eccleston). He is betrayed by Malekith who tries to kill Thor by allowing both the god of thunder and Algrim to fall to their deaths. While both survived, Algrim developed amnesia from the event and is transformed into the much more powerful being Kurse.

And Destro or whatever wretched version they had in GI Joe: RoTC.

Sounds better and better! and like someone else said, Chris Hemsworth does a fantastic job of playing Thor. Makes the character memorable.

Rumors are that Doctor Strange could be playing a roll in the film.

Smart idea if this comes true. Lets them test the waters with the character before putting him in a solo film.

^ Or they could just throw him into the Avengers sequel (a la Hawkeye).

Nah, they already have AntMan and likely Wasp to that cast and then the GotG cast might be there too. A2 will be insanely crowded if all those are included especially if it is against Thanos.

I say go all in. Toss in Black Panther, Vision, Quicksilver and Wanda for good measure. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Nah, Marvel will be milking this franchise for decades to come, no point in throwing all the members in there. Whedon is good but to have 12-15 members in there is just insane.
