It's a little whale-ish I suppose. I still don't really mind it. Manton, I don't get any spanking for the cotton square in the other one? Or can you not see it well enough to reprimand me for it?

It's OK, I have just stopped wearing squares without ties, too Riviera flashy for me

Manton said above that linen squares should not be puffed because it'll "overwhelm the pocket" - Is there anything inherently wrong, however, with puffing a linen or cotton square (assuming you can do so without overwhelming)?

yeah, it looks bad, linen is stiff and wants to be crisply folded

Not if it's just a plain white linen bigstar[1].gif

Manton, how do you get a TV on a small boat?

Do you just have the edge flat at the top of the pocket? across the middle so that it's now showing on one side?

Or does a barchetta pocket call for a Flusser fold?

Not sure what you're asking.

I fold it in quarters, then lengthwise twice, like a piece of paper you are putting in a envelope, then I take one edge and fold it up and that's the bottom. So the edges show at the top. I don't like it when the top is folded over.

I probably could not have been less clear.

With the TV fold, it's easy to judge how much square you show if the breast pocket is straight.

How high should the top edge be with a barchetta pocket? If you go a bit above the highest point of the pocket, you're showing a lot (too much?) square.

If you only go part of the way up the pocket - it kind of looks like it's fallen down.

well it always shows more toward the lapel than at the outer edge. I don't really mind that.
