I know, it's quite tempting.

G&G's might only offer burgundy shell. Not sure how red it is in real life, but that might tip me to suede. I just worry that suede may be too much texture for a tweed, though I know you wear both with great success.

Thanks, D. Yes, I like suede with tweed and flannel (and, and...). I can imagine people like the contrast of smooth and 'textury', but I quite like to go all-textury (as you've probably noticed...).

The question I suppose is - which would look best with grey flannel trousers and tweed jackets?

Am I allowed to suggest that you go for the Galway in shell instead?

Bluchers would be the preferred choice with tweeds and flannels anyway, and the Galway is sleek enough to not be mistaken for a work boot.

I don't really like how shell looks in balmoral anything.

If loving bal boots in shell is wrong, I don't wanna be right

I already have a pair of Brooks Brothers shell cordovan boots, which kind of serve the same function. I guess there's the two-tone thing, but I really hate boots like that.

I agree though - I'm also hesitant on using shell for a balmoral.

What to do, what to do.

Oh true those peal boots are great.

Do you have a shell longwing?

I personally only like agatine eyelets on rugged boots. Balmoral boots, IMO, look better with blind ones.

Yea, the RL Marlow.

oh nice

I'm not really seeing a gap to fill...

It's gotta be suede, but I still don't think it should be a bal boot.

Because tassels are a pointless and stupid thing to tack onto a shoe?
