It surprises me too. The closest thing I have that I wear with any regularity are a pair of cords that lowish rise.

Haven't looked into fabrics. I'm trying out a pair of Steed trousers this year, and NSM. Will see if either makes a pair worth copying.

icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif Same here. Have trousers in the works at Steed, and a few from NsM already in my wardrobe. Look forward to comparing notes with you.

Have you read much of that Esquire's Encyclopedia?

Read most of the suits section, but haven't gotten past that. I love reading it, but I do most of my reading in coffee shops and in the subway or on planes, and well...anyone who owns that book understands why that's not feasible for this particular tome.

Carrying that thing around is possibly the best way to identify yourself as an iGent.

You on your way to Pitti?

Almost. Going in the exact wrong direction to go to annual meeting of economists in San Diego first, then going straight to Pitti from there. Packing for these two events was something of a challenge.

Really I can barely imagine two more different meetings of people than economists meeting in San Diego and #menswear enthusiasts meeting in Florence. I'm embarrassed to tell anyone at either one of these events that I'm going to the other.

I have some HY wool and linen trousers, and they're pretty good. Construction and fabric are great. But the Italian ones are a little tight and low rise on me, and the American ones are a tad frumpy looking on me. I still wear the ones I have happily though. If I were forced to get RTW trousers, I'd get HY trousers and not be too upset about it. I'm pretty sure the Walts would be too tight in the thigh and seat areas.

HY's wool trous fit me decent enough, but I'd like something that fits a bit cleaner. Epaulet's, from measurements, seem too slim for my taste.

Nothing OTR really fits me well because I stand with my hips forward, like a posing porn star shog[1].gif

The ones I've seen are too low for my taste.

Just suits. As much as I like seeing them on other people for some reason I can't feel comfortable in them myself. I think I am past trying to force things on myself. I end up spending unneeded money. Oh well!

I have the no ass, forward hips, knocked knees look. OTR looks horrible on me and jeans because they are closer makes it all look even worse.
