BTW- is the belt loose or fixed? dont remember if I checked that out and also are the buttons loose, tight or just right? I remember having a hard time with a couple of them myself, too narrow eyelet maybe? not sure though.

The belt can be removed which is awesome. The buttons are loose but I did not have any difficulty buttoning the jacket. I was, however, worried that they may fall off but I reviewed the threading and it looks solid. The jacket also has extra buttons sewn on the inside.

not feeling the norfolk as a sports coat at all. the tie kinda kills it for me. and canstyleace, i hate you

the s at bloomies soho was what i was hoping was still there. oh well! timpo, i'd keep the sleeves as is. although i'm not sure of the reason behind it, i kinda dig how you have one cuff undone.

Basically, think "its cold and rainy and I want to hunt small animals and go with what comes to you. Grab some Trickers and a cable sweater and stomp around the country side and it'll look great! edit: I ran into the same thing with the belt not being the proper length. Just twist the ends around each other and then button one button and it should look cleaner.

Sorry J, but if you're sure its going on sale, I bought it 2 weeks ago and tags and receipt are here if you wanna get some cash back, I was hopping to return it if the S didnt work out but blooms doesnt mail checks to canada so I cant return it myself.

I love this coat, I want this coat bad, but this is all coat though imho and has too much going on (pattern/patchwork/belt) to wear as a SC, but anyway I just think its freaking sweet!

Haha, no man Im just old school that way, besides I hate paying conversion fee's (or fee's in general) so rarely use the cc unless I have to.

Appreciate the feedback guys, but respectfully disagree with some of the comments.

JO3B & false: I'm not sure how the Norfolk isn't worn as a sport coat - it is the Ur-sport coat. Is is just the tie that throws you off? I hope you're not disappointed if I also wear my Baracuta harrington as a casual windbreaker.

The top button's a little tight since I was wearing a very bulky cardigan underneath. The top button is done up, as is the collar, since it was in fact very cold and rainy last night and I had to walk home. Not exactly tramping across the moors but as close as I'll get in LA. My Trickers Stow are leather soled, so for the wet weather I went with Dainite-soled cordovan chukkas instead.

Ok no amount of oldass drawings is going to make it not look weird the way you were wearing it, which was closer to a robe than a sportcoat. And even if this were a hundred years ago and norfolks were still regarded as proper jackets, its tone would still clash with the starched white collar shirt and conventional tie. The jeans and shoes are good, but see raven's post on how to wear and coordinate the top half with that particular jacket.

No reason, just looks more interesting that way.

I think the best fit so far of the Norfolk has been on Raven. Nice and boxy. It calls for a vest or thick sweater underneath and to be left open with the belt hanging.
