Good roll on luggage? something quality, durable and at a decent price? - Page 2

I used TravelPro for 15 years, until the TSA change regulations and I began to check it. The luggage handlers destroyed it in short order. For the past 3 years, I've owned B&R, but I'm back to carrying on as much as possible, so it's really not a fair comparison. Although i REALLY liked my old TravelPro bag, the B&R lifetime warranty sold me.

I mostly check and my TravelPro is looking tired but not bad.

I had a Victorinox that I liked the style and function of very much but the handlers demolished it on about tip #3.

What size/shape do people like?

My current roller is on its last legs (and at 6'2, I have always found the handle a little too short) but everytime I am in a store, everything either looks much smaller or is clearly too big for the overhead. I haven't taken measurements, but my current roller fits overhead on all normal planes...sometimes it is close but unless it is a tiny plane where they gate-check it, it fits.

Maybe I am too used to my old bag, but I am apprehensive about going any smaller. I probably would not bring it internationally so I am not concerned about smaller limits in Europe...I just want something that holds as much stuff and isn't filled with a bunch of weird fold-out things and organizer gimmicks.

I use a 20" or so Briggs & Riley. The bag is virtually indestructible, and there is always the lifetime warranty.
