i was think about that for only the top set of buttons, but when i realized the button was functional, i said, naw, leave it. might be worth seeing what it looks like pushed out a tad, and then deciding.

Thanks- I'm going to be 38 next month- most people say I don't look it though.

I'm not sure if I can sew buttons anymore (I injured my hand)- if I can, I'll try that next week and we can all have a look. If not, I'll go get Despos to do it for me tongue.gif

The way the buttons are arranged gives the jacket a distinctly military feel, IMO. The uniformity and spacing of them reminds me of an officer's overcoat.

That would be an interesting menswear insult....

Jeffery, don't know if this was answered already, how much alteration did you do to that suit when you were putting it back together?

Haha. Missed that typo. Glad you went with "insult" rather than "Freudian slip." shog[1].gif

Not much. That's why I really wanted to study one- I tried them on in Milan and was impressed by the fit so when I got back I asked Andrew Lock to go pick one up for me at C21, didn't matter about styling or anything I just wanted to study the fit and construction. Same goes for what I'm wearing today- it's Zegna Couture 3 roll 2 (from the same factory as the TF) and I paid a fortune for it, the one my friend convinced me to buy.

I also asked James to sell me one of his, that I would feature him in a What Is James No Longer Wearing? post.

He didn't like the idea.
