Here's how I wear my burgundy/brick sport coat

Kiton sport coat. Dunhill shirt. Zegna tie. Leonard p.s.

Not seen, charcoal Zanella flat front pants.

Robert Talbott shirt. Charvet tie. Robert Talbott p.s. Luciano Barbera grayish brown pants

Zegna ecru shirt. Zegna tie. Dunhill p.s. Brooks Brothers sage cords.

BTW, the first photo shows the most accurate color of the sport coat.

^each one would be better with lighter pants IMHO

Light coloured trousers are fairly natural choices for a shade of burgundy/wine that dark, but less so with my lighter maroon suit jacket (thus far). I did have a shot with my chocolate brown trousers, but it's not with me

This particular combination is one of the best 'peacock' fits ever posted on the forum because the combinations are so wrong in all kinds of ways, yet work so perfectly. Of couse the studied nonchalence of the pose adds to this impression because it challenges potential critics to ask themselves whether they could ever be as cool as this or carry this off. And very few could meet that challenge.

i dont see how that is possible. there will always be hits and misses, and not everyone agrees what is the best, and who would aggregate them? its a nice idea, but i dont see it as practical, or realistic. also, each thread getting a reasonable amount of posts, makes them easier to follow imo. hard to keep up when a thread has 42 new posts each time you check it.

just my 2 cents.

There used to be this guy, Vox. Some may have known him as Corbera.

Burgundy sport coat is peacock-y enough for me, hence the darker pants for subduing effect. Besides, I do not much care for light color pants except for Khakis and cream or white linen ones.

Burgundy is dark enough that with dark pants it just looks muddy to me. Light-to-medium color pants are the foundation of any trouser collection IMHO.

What would you guys think of wearing a wing collar outside of a formal situation, say with a tie and vest? I think these were more daily wear in earlier times.
