I like this outfit, but wonder whether anyone thinks the jacket and tie would look better with a light blue shirt.

BTW, perfect tie knot! wink.gif

Thanks. I don't care for light blue ties and shirts together; not enough contrast.

Correct or incorrect?

This is a wonderful thread. I have maybe 4 white shirts and the only one that gets regular wear is the ocbd. Now I know why.

Also the nuanced and ultimately flattering comparison between E.B. White and Manton was spot on.

All I know is that Roger Goodell needs to find a different tone of white. I don't even pay attention to football all I know is when I see him on tv while I am at the bar. all I can think is man that washes him out

You can go with a light blue striped shirt and maroon tie for contrast.

If I'm wearing Cucinelli grey flannel slacks suede bal's and a Kiton dark blue cashmere sport coat I have to wear a button down collar shirt??

I can't wear a spread collar with cuff links??

If its Cucinelli and Kiton you're ok. But if it were Zegna or Brioni, no way.

Zegna is soooo parvenu.

Dodged a bullet there.

You're jesting I hope!
There is no way I'm going to wear a button down collar. It seems so, white bread. As in Wonder.

This is a nice thread I'm learning quite a lot in here.
