Looks good to me because I'm sure at anything further than the camera distance, the tie appears solid. I think the only other option in terms of ties is to go with a large pattern.

+1. That tie knot is (at least close to) perfect.

Tie is grenadine and PS i white linnen. Shirt is light blue with white in a really neat pattern that looks like solid from 3 feet.

Awesome tie, where from?

i think the fit is nice, shirt maybe a tad casual for the suit and tie, but nothing major. pet peeve, earphone cords in fit pics.

Hehe, thank you stitch. I wouldn't call it a goatee either.

Thank you. What makes you think that the shirt is too casual? It looks like a solid light blue from a distance. I may be missing some details, because I thought that light blue was (apart from white) about as formal as one could go?

Thanks. I quite like the suit, at least for the price payed. I've been thinking about buying a cream silk PS, but am not quite sure yet. Perhaps later!

Ok. How much of the pocket do you think that the PS should fill? It isn't possible to see it in the picture, but I had folded the PS so that the hand rolled edges peaked up, being folded in half three times. Kind of like the PS in this pic:

Thanks!

It's an untipped grenadine from Drake's. I was in London a couple of weeks ago and picked it up in their shop. I haven't payed their website a visit for quite a while now, but I didn't see it on there the last time I looked. But try there! It feels amazing and ties a really beautiful knot and dimple.

I just gotta say that your knot is one of the best that I've seen around here (and I am a long time lurker). What tie is it? It's beautiful as well!

Yeah, I saw his earlier knots as well and they were - together with his overall fit - not as good as it is now. So big kudos to you stitch. Do you have any advice on how to get your dimple so round and smooth? Mine always seems to be really short and twisted. I also get two or even three dimples most of the times.

thanks! practice practice practice. also, start to forn the dimple when you pull the long end through the knot before you tighten it. pinch the fabric as you pull it through, i find that help. also, some ties just tie better than others.

I know. That sc is amazing. Though it's just a random pic I found on some tumblr.

Ok, thanks. I tie a FIH myself, but should be able to use the pinching technique as well. Do you have any of Hober's grenadines in 4 fold? I have a couple and they are truly amazing, but also the ties that are most prone to those multiple short dimples. I was wondering if you noticed any difference between the four and six folds?

i have a 3 fold (cashmere) and a four fold (grenadine garza). both tie fantastic knots for me. smile.gif

Then I can be sure that the problem is my technique. Thank you wink.gif
