Funny you mention the dimple. Once when I saw Axelman at the tailor I noticed he had a very nonchalantly tied tie. Not badly, just not super fuddy-duddy like I am used to doing and I thought it looked really good. Much more natural.

" Natural" ? Like a fly at half-mast? A shirt tail out?, Scuffed shoes?, ...

That's about three feet away. At six feet, it looks mostly like a medium blue with some texture. Twenty feet, it might as well be solid.

This is an excellent combination and I particularly like the pocket square.

Whatever anyone else says, I think it looks great, stitch. I'd wear something like that.

I'm still unsure about that jacket, stitch.

Is the shirt BB? Collar roll doesn't look bad but a bit too stiff... I've seen BB shirts in real life for the first time today (a local department store is carrying them) and I was rather disappointed with the roll...

Apparently the Mercer BD is where it is at.

^ Yeah, I love mine and probably won't get my button downs from any other source from now on. I need new shirts badly and went hunting for a couple button downs today - wasn't satisfied with any, including those BBs. Blame Mercer on that lol8[1].gif

The Kamakura oxfords are pretty great as well. As my BBs wear out, they will be replaced by Kamakura for sure.

I guess there are probably more brands to choose from in the US, it's an American style after all. Everything you find around here is rather stiff and lifeless...

Yea, collar roll looks a bit stiff, but the shape is very nice. Might be just the pic, cause I bet Ed knows what roll should look like smile.gif

I think it just looks like this because the knot seems a bit robust. Could just be the photo though. Also, collars soften up over time. Is it a new shirt?

first time i wore the shirt. i find all BDs roll better when the top button is undone and the tie pushed up 99% not 100%, but today i did neither of those things.
