Not at all even close. Brighter blue, not blue/grey. Like French blue. A blue M&M.

more like this?

Less gray, more blue. Scabal tropical. Forget the #

I suspected you would not wear a brown tie.

I have a suit that color. I'd definitely avoid another strong primary color, like red. Too bad you don't like brown - brown is perfect. I think most shades of grey work too. I'm on the fence about black, personally.

a picture of the color would help. that swatch above is not gray at all. its a beautiful bright blue, but it was hard for me to get a good pic.

also, brown ties are beautiful and they go great with both blue and gray. you are missing out.

Something wrong about wearing a brown tie with black shoes.

Ah, well there's your problem then. Black shoes with a light blue summer suit? fight[1].gif
post #9024 of 12603
I think it looks awesome. It is not light blue, just royal blue. Certainly not navy.

I figured the shoes would be the sticking point. I appreciate your reliability, pB.

What about a burnt orange linen or otherwise rough textured tie?

I'm not against any texture. It is the color that has got me. I think I might just settle on shepherd's check.
I think a black and white shepherd or glen check would look great. Really, it's the best I can think of.

Black knit would probably work as well. Honestly, black knit goes with damn near everything.
