I'm not sure, but we can start by figuring out where Johnny Depp got his!

He has the chain going to a different buttonhole, but it's the same idea.

Thank you! I knew something was off but you've really nailed it. I can see why they call you Mr Steeze.

Perhaps I am slow on the uptake but ... are people saying SB's tie is not in good taste? If so, I don't understand. Are only solid, dark colored, subtly textured ties in good taste? I realize there are narrow constraints in this thread but is there no room for a lively striped tie? Seriously?

Yes, them and the future leader of LH.

Dig it, GN - where'd you find the cardigan?

The problem isn't that it's cruel, it's that it isn't funny. I'm surprised SB's ire has been raised to this degree.

I don't hate that tie, SB. Though I am trying.

Foo's pendantry, while tiresome, is at least sometimes useful. At a certain point, though, you know, fuck that guy.

You held out for a long time, SB, and that's to be admired.

I thought that SB was trolling good naturedly when he posted the tie here. I'm less certain now dozingoff.gif

EDIT: I think I have some sort of mental disability. I'm always getting into staredowns with acridsheep's avatar

I love this tie. It's not soporific, but I don't think it's at all in bad taste.

Foo, can you put an old argument to rest? It's pronounced eye-say-ah, right? confused.gif

Bro, that's SO S/S 2012.

It's not trolling. It's "Manton's Law." Namely, if Manton starts a thread with an eye toward capturing a certain aesthetic, it will inevitably devolve into WAYWRN. With all due respect to SB, he is the prototype of this phenomenon. He has posted basically every outfit he has worn, day in and day out, and nobody can colorably argue that each of his outfits has been in good taste.

Your gift for hyperbole is prodigious. I don't come close to posting every fit in this thread, and each time I do, I do so in the spirit of the OP. If you don't think they're in good taste, say so, preferably with some useful commentary. I can only control my side of that equation. As for today, I've yet to hear someone make a cogent case for the tastelessness of the tie. Or any case at all for that matter. Unless we're to understand that this color is simply off-limits for ties. Is that what we should take away from this?
