sheep, foo disagrees, but I like the 3-solid look with a white shirt. Just angle the tie clip down, the other way, or else ditch it altogether.

Foo, I suspect that there are many of us relative sartorial newbies lurking in the shadows that appreciate your critiques. You are scathing at times but I personally don't find it offensive whatsoever since I'm not an effeminized male. You speak your mind and I know I've benefited as a result.

In fact, I wore a silk cream square this past weekend and received several compliments about my overall appearance but not a specific piece of clothing. I think this is an accomplishment. Cheers!

See? Mike knows me well enough to predict with 95% accuracy what I'm going to think of something. He can play both our parts in this thread, but without stirring up personal animosity.

There is a FooBot in Manton's head and it has made me obsolete. frown.gif

Thanks Manton. Foo, would you change the shirt or the square?

Let's see what FooBot has to say. This is a good test of its artificial intelligence.

FooBot Say:

Change shirt or tie, or suit. Three solid no good. Also, white square + white shirt always bad. Tonal similarity between tie and suit too close. Overall, bland and costumey, like Reservoir Dogs character.

I kind of like the look, but also agree with Foo bot at the same time.

Why does the FooBot have the syntax of a waiter at a Chinese restaurant?

I could comment that it's raining outside and someone would invariably demand to know when I became the expert on weather. Then that would go on for two or three pages.

well, it is raining. so that should put an end to that. smile.gif

The tie isn't straight-up red; it is closer to a brick red. Here is a picture with more lighting, though it washes out the blue in the shirt.
