while i undertand the concept of 2 squares being too much, when i think about it, its not really so OTT imo. if you concede that a PS in an overcoat is acceptable, then why not have both?
the idea of the PS is to add to the fit and the combination. when you are outside, wearing the coat, people only see that. when you go inside, and take off the coat, people see that one. why should one be lacking a PS from their outside fit just because they have one for the inside fit, and visa versa?
i think it might only be viewed as contrived because we are seeing both at the same time, as he is showing us the full fit. had you seen him in person, outside, with a PS in the overcoat, i doubt anyone would think anything of it. and then if you saw him later inside with a PS in the SC would you say, "hey! take that out! i already saw you with a PS in the overcoat"? i doubt that at all.
