As for the extended tie blade, this tie is too long and I didn't have a knife handy . . . .

Why apologize?

Manton says that up to an inch can be in good taste but you've got barely two inches and it doesn't look terribly affected so I don't see the problem.

The Illuminatti may skewer you for the jacket not being part a suit, though.

Ah, I guess not then. Mine are NsM. But fabric is very similar.

Works for me but should be a suit, what kind of pants with that?

Can someone explain why navy jacket with light grey trousers is SFapproved but light grey jacket with navy trousers is not(?) I am certain that this question will provoke all manner of snark but I am willing to sacrifice my body for the half of the forum that is wondering the same thing I am. For instance, below is a pic of Nay in a light colored jacket and navy trousers - if the jacket is grey, why is it bad taste(?)

^^

I don't think that outfit was criticized as being in bad taste, other than that dead parrot stuck in his pocket.

It doesn't look grey to me.

On the subject on grey jackets, guess I'll post today's fit here, you be the judge (I don't think it's very good, but who knows)

plenty of contrast between jacket and trousers, in spite of the detail pic (Click to show)

I don't think nay's coat there is gray, it's more like fawn or donkey. and I certainly hope he doesn't have on blue pants.

Diaz, that coat doesn't work for me. Not a good gray odd jacket, too "suity" and the metal buttons make it look really strange.

The buttons are horn and the cloth is rather flimsy, fuzzy and loosely woven (it might look like a worsted in the pictures, I know).

Does that change anything? tounge.gif

Looks odd to me. The difference in shade between the top and the bottom pic is huge. Makes me wonder which is truer and, if the bottom, how the windowpane could possibly be visible in most light.

Really, it's a suit color/pattern.

It is not as dark as in the full body shot, it's more like the detail pic. But what can be seen of the trousers in the detail looks way darker than IRL.

This jacket was definately in my "get-rid-of" list as my custom wardrobe grows, anyways.
