I wear a decent amount of print ties with odd jackets but 90% of the time I'm wearing a navy jacket and gray pants. Does the soberness of that combination make it more acceptable for "suit ties"?

Is this a double or even triple sole? Nice shoes, jacket makes you look a little big like a footballer though, isn't it a hair too small?

I am that big (but its fat, not footballer muscle). Shoes are triple sole cordovan Dinkelackers.

Are you THE GRAPIST? Otherwise lay off the purple everywhere, I'd replace with white ps and some sort of decent tie (not a tie expert), keep the sweater, it looks nice. I prefer button-downs with sweaters (and no tie) but that is not really "good taste" kosher say nevermind that.

Is the tie black wool? If so can it really work with those brown shoes? I'd also prefer a "rougher" fabric on the shirt to go with the rest (thick oxford?).

Shoes are A++++, nevermind the jacket comment then, although maybe a different cut or a wider tie would be better, I'm discussing details anyway as the colour, textures and patterns are def "good taste" approved. This is still the best thread on CM btw, thanks again to whnay.

You need a white ps + grey slacks (slightly wider) stat! I'd also wear longer pants, when in doubt a slight break is better than hoover break.

This is exactly why CM needs this thread, why would you dress like a serious young urban lawyer or whatever then wear brown suede shoes to add a hint of, I dunno nonchalance or casual, fucking up the whole thing? This is the novelty ties of outfits.Oh and wear a white ps until you can select something not totally ugly and too matchy-matchy with your tie.
