whnay.'s good taste thread - Page 281

I liked Moo's first two pics (in that photobomb he just did) and I liked the the second to last pic. The other outfits had too much going on.

I did not realize that, so I retract my earlier comments about him.

I don't think it's paranoia. I think it's overreaction. I've always enjoyed and learned much from your commentary on all kinds of topics: food, clothes, politics, etc. I wish you would just ignore the assholes and converse with the people who genuinely want to converse with you. I can't pretend to understand what it's like to be assailed the way that you are sometimes, but I think your acknowledgment of the people just makes them more eager to attack.

Having said that, I'll post some pics of my outfit today:

It's a good exercise to post here and then make tweaks. Most of the photos from me on the last page are several months old - some things I still do the same, and others I've changed.

Things I need:
Even more soporofic ties
Madder squares

Bromer, that tie is great. Where did you get the square?

ax man - i too like #2 better, lovely indeed.

I think the hank is a bit too shiny, Fred. The tie is not to my taste, but that doesn't mean it's not in good taste.

LOL really? I didnt know this pocket square had a shine?

Maybe it's just the photograph. Damned electrons and stuff...

Ha..damn those electrons and stuff.

Maybe I'm the only one read his post, but this Makoto Chan guy is somehow annoying.

that pocket square is as shiny as Kevin Costner's personality.

Tie is browner than is appearing here. Shirt checks are blue and black. Is the square too matchy? Definitely needs to be tucked in some:

Maybe what we need is a "Good Taste (?) Thread." The question mark's the key. It'd be like the tailors' thread, except the taste impaired (like me) could post pics and some of the old stalwarts could let loose with their criticism.

The tailors' thread is overseen by three tailors. Which three should we get to run this one? I'm thinking Manton, itsstillsmatt, gdl, Foo, and Ed would be good. Doesn't need to be three necessarily. And it could be called "Classic Western Old-Man Style" to placate the relativists. Or maybe "Old Curmudgeons Let Loose."

Tried every PS that I own, but settled on the most appropriate, if soporific, for this ensemble: white linen...

Nice, Emptym... and you've given me some ideas (I have a very similar jacket, shirt and tie smile.gif)

Don't think the PS is too matchy. However, is it this shiny IRL or it those darn electrons again?

IMO, muted squares work better with tweed-ish jackets (e.g. madder).
