Just to annoy Foo, here's a pic of what I was wearing today - a plain white shirt coupled with a plain white linen square. I'm also wearing a pair of plain grey pick-and-pick socks devil.gif

I've always kept it 100 on here whether in my critique of others, my own posted pics, stories, etc. So in that spirit:

I have realized that while I have been hard on Matt, Mike & others re their opinions on dress, I have realized that the day-glow ties & squares can be a bit over the top. No need to do pistachio/fuchsia shirt, pistachio/fuchsia tie & square, pistachio/fuchsia socks all of the time. As in my earlier confessional ITT I have resigned myself to take a gdlesque approach to MC. I say gdlesque because he does him without issuing forth dogma, seemingly forcing his tastes on others.

I have not only, to use TB's term, culled my necktie sitch but my suit and SC situations, too. I have already secured some soporific ties, more sedate suits, have taken Ed's advice and have dumped most of my contrast-collared shirts, etc. (still lurv them, tho).

I guess what I'm saying is I don't have to be all "in your face" to be a pcock because such comes from within-I will always be a pcock.

I have also taken queues from some of the more tranquil dressers on here which I view as a benefit. Will I still incorporate an FU look here and there? No doubt. But overall, I realized that I needed to stop gathering [PRL] overstock and being stuck throwing things together. Neither do you.

Take the advice offered here with a grain of salt and make your look work for you. Be happy in doing so. Life is short.

on the loud side (which for some is automatically not good taste), but i quite like this fred, and i look forward to what will no doubt be an enthralling discussion of matching tie color to stripe color when wearing a pin/chalk stripe suit.

also, i see no stripes in the pants, i assume they are there but not visible in the pic.

I really like the color combo here, I think the only thing that bothers me is how skinny the lapels are however.

Nore that looks fantastic. Just push down the square a bit if you want to be even more square.

Nope - its a blue stripe. Not quite as 'electric' in real life - the flash distorts the fabric a bit.

Excellent tie, NORE.
