oh, i can trim it. i do. i could shave it off entirely if i wanted too. no law against that, as long as you dont use a straight razor, scissors or electric shaver only.

i just mean that there are jewish religious reasons to have one, that stem more from custom, and other such reason, not strict law. and those are customs my family has, and i choose to continue with.

also, i like how my beard looks. my chin hasnt been bald for 12 years.

I like the outfit a lot in the distance shot.

Did you have the flash on for the closeup? In that shot, the blue of the shirt and the green of the tie seemed too bright.

But everything seems more balanced and harmonious in this pic.

I wore a tie like this with a sportcoat and was told by Manton that it was too "businessy" for it; but my SC was a glen check and yours is a solid colour, so maybe you can get away with it (though the patch pockets make it countryish).

OK but there's a nuance between a personal preference to not wear neats with sport coats and labeling a green neat tie as "too businessy."

I can't remember how Manton phrased it. I think he described it as a personal rule. It may have been in the "non-rule rules" thread.

thanks, there was a lot of sun in the close up coming through the car windshield. overall the distance pic is better representing the colors, with the tie being a hair brighter irl. like, just between the close up and the distance.

this was my thought as well. green ground with flowers felt country enough to wear with the other elements, imho.
