again, no hate, im a fan of your fits, just a small and pointless nitpick that would usually annoy me if i was reading someone else post it.

An abiding memory of a trip to NYC nearly 20 years ago is having breakfast on a work day early in a diner in Chelsea and seeing a man there with his suit jacket off before he went to work wearing silk patterned braces [suspenders], white OCBD with monogrammed pocket and cuffs, bold (maybe Brooks No1) American repp tie, and big clumpy highly shined longwings (AE or Alden, I guess, maybe Florsheim's in those days). With the possible exception of the tie (I appear to collect them even if I don't wear them that often here), all anathema to my London sensibilities. But in the context of NYC, completely appropriate and acceptable, even laudable. Context is (almost) everything.

I plan on shamelessly copying this look tomorrow, swapping a forest green grenadine for the tie. Thank you for the inspiration.

Are all your tieless fits with BD shirts? Your collars are always standing up nicely, didn't know if that was due to the bespoke jackets/shirts or something else (hopefully not those magnetic collar stays )

No, definitely no magnetic collars for me... Most are BD but not all. If the collar is cut properly, with a high enough band, the right length points and the right interlining, it will stay up as long as I'm wearing my jacket - it is pretty much physically impossible for my custom shirt collars to slip down under the jacket's lapels like some RTW shirts used to do.

I will persist in my apparently heterodox views and say that while I like this, wider spaced stripes would be better IMHO.

This is very nice IMHO. I feel like I may have asked you this before about that suit, but what's the fabric?

It's birdseye? Or sharkskin? Or nailhead?

Manton - love suit, shirt and tie. Don't love the square with them, something of a cool vs warm vibe. Were you wearing black shoes ?
