Stitchy, are you opposed to the chunky knit or just unsure and don't want to sink a lot of cash into an experiment? If the latter, buy one from Lands End. Cheap and of decent quality. If you like, wonderful. If not, no real harm done.

they are that item, that every time i see one i think, "should i get that? nah, it looks too chunky for a dress tie with a jacket, not me." and then i see it on someone, and i think, "man, that looks great, i need one!" and i has a sad.

repeat.

That fuzzy flannel seems a bit informal for that shirt and tie?

Though the texture of the tie makes me dubious about it...

Look, it would be the wrong tie to wear with Harris tweed but that's a city flannel, looks like a worsted flannel actually, not even that napped, it's fine

How the idiot can wear that in this humidity is another matter

Well, here's my fresco today. This is one of the shirts from my new shirtmaker (although the lastest batch I ordered slightly higher collar, slightly longer points, edge stitching, and more spread than cutaway). Better collar?

collar looks rumply?

are regimental stripes and glen plaid acceptable?
